Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Area Manager oversees the janitorial activities and ensures operations, and financial duties of the area/territory are successful and meet business goals and objectives. This position maintains budgets, quality standards and positive customer relations with key focus on retention of accounts. This position ensures 100% compliance with all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining client relationships.
  • Maintains, follows up and resolves union issues with the guidance of HR.
  • Establishes operational goals to ensure profitability of accounts, services, budgets, and compliance.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, and directs staff on Midway’s goals, policy and procedures, customer relations, and account objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Monitors staff overtime and absenteeism against Midway standards and implements corrective measures as necessary when exceeds acceptable standards.
  • Acts as primary liaisons for all site-specific client stakeholders, actively ensuring that service is prompt, responsive, and effective and that inter-departmental concerns are addressed and resolved efficiently.
  • Provides regular monthly KPI’s and analysis to client and Midway management team. Presents ad-hoc status reports as necessary to keep meet client’s needs to help reduce risk and ensure smooth operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Enforce policy, recognize desired behaviors, or provide coaching to operations team.
  • Align market priorities with organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • 4 – 8 years’ experience in facilities management preferred.  
  • A collaborative leadership style that emphasizes accountability through coaching. 
  • Desire and ability to advance the company’s mission in delivering best-in-class services that deliver measurable results to our client.
  • Must possess a high sense of urgency with strong attention to detail. 
  • Desire and ability to provide savings at all levels, maximizing our client’s investment in building systems and critical assets while capturing significant energy savings through operational excellence.
  • The ability to represent all Midway service lines and work effectively with its many stakeholders, including the client’s management team, municipal leadership, and other governmental bodies.
  • A commitment to continually improve the performance of Midway’s onsite services.
